| 71.1 | Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. | 'Innā 'Arsalnā Nūĥāan 'Ilá Qawmihi 'An 'Andhir Qawmaka Min Qabli 'An Ya'tiyahum `Adhābun 'Alīmun |

| 71.2 | He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you | Qāla Yā Qawmi 'Innī Lakum Nadhīrun Mubīnun |
 |
| 71.3 | (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, | 'Ani A`budū Allāha Wa Attaqūhu Wa 'Aţī`ūni |
 |
| 71.4 | That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. | Yaghfir Lakum Min Dhunūbikum Wa Yu'uakhkhirkum 'Ilá 'Ajalin Musammáan 'Inna 'Ajala Allāhi 'Idhā Jā'a Lā Yu'uakhkharu Law Kuntum Ta`lamūna |

| 71.5 | He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day | Qāla Rabbi 'Innī Da`awtu Qawmī Laylāan Wa Nahārāan |
 |
| 71.6 | But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; | Falam Yazid/hum Du`ā'ī 'Illā Firārāan |
 |
| 71.7 | And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. | Wa 'Innī Kullamā Da`awtuhum Litaghfira Lahum Ja`alū 'Aşābi`ahum Fī 'Ādhānihim Wa Astaghshaw Thiyābahum Wa 'Aşarrū Wa Astakbarū Astikbārāan |

| 71.8 | And lo! I have called unto them aloud, | Thumma 'Innī Da`awtuhum Jihārāan |
 |
| 71.9 | And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. | Thumma 'Innī 'A`lantu Lahum Wa 'Asrartu Lahum 'Isrārāan |
 |
| 71.10 | And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. | Faqultu Astaghfirū Rabbakum 'Innahu Kāna Ghaffārāan |
 |
| 71.11 | He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, | Yursili As-Samā'a `Alaykum Midrārāan |
 |
| 71.12 | And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. | Wa Yumdidkum Bi'amwālin Wa Banīna Wa Yaj`al Lakum Jannātin Wa Yaj`al Lakum 'Anhārāan |
 |
| 71.13 | What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity | Mā Lakum Lā Tarjūna Lillāhi Waqārāan |
 |
| 71.14 | When He created you by (divers) stages? | Wa Qad Khalaqakum 'Aţwārāan |
 |
| 71.15 | See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, | 'Alam Taraw Kayfa Khalaqa Allāhu Sab`a Samāwātin Ţibāqāan |
 |
| 71.16 | And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? | Wa Ja`ala Al-Qamara Fīhinna Nūrāan Wa Ja`ala Ash-Shamsa Sirājāan |
 |
| 71.17 | And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, | Wa Allāhu 'Anbatakum Mina Al-'Arđi Nabātāan |
 |
| 71.18 | And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. | Thumma Yu`īdukum Fīhā Wa Yukhrijukum 'Ikhrājāan |
 |
| 71.19 | And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you | Wa Allāhu Ja`ala Lakumu Al-'Arđa Bisāţāan |
 |
| 71.20 | That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. | Litaslukū Minhā Subulāan Fijājāan |
 |
| 71.21 | Noah said: My Lord! Lo! they have disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children increase him in naught save ruin; | Qāla Nūĥun Rabbi 'Innahum `Aşawnī Wa Attaba`ū Man Lam Yazid/hu Māluhu Wa Waladuhu 'Illā Khasārāan |

| 71.22 | And they have plotted a mighty plot, | Wa Makarū Makrāan Kubbārāan |
 |
| 71.23 | And they have said: Forsake not your gods. Forsake not Wadd, nor Suwa´, nor Yaghuth and Ya´uq and Nasr. | Wa Qālū Lā Tadharunna 'Ālihatakum Wa Lā Tadharunna Waddāan Wa Lā Suwā`āan Wa Lā Yaghūtha Wa Ya`ūqa Wa Nasrāan |

| 71.24 | And they have led many astray, and Thou increasest the wrong-doers in naught save error. | Wa Qad 'Ađallū Kathīrāan Wa Lā Tazidi Až-Žālimīna 'Illā Đalālāan |
 |
| 71.25 | Because of their sins they were drowned, then made to enter a Fire. And they found they had no helpers in place of Allah. | Mimmā Khaţī'ātihim 'Ughriqū Fa'udkhilū Nārāan Falam Yajidū Lahum Min Dūni Allāhi 'Anşārāan |
 |
| 71.26 | And Noah said: My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers in the land. | Wa Qāla Nūĥun Rabbi Lā Tadhar `Alá Al-'Arđi Mina Al-Kāfirīna Dayyārāan |
 |
| 71.27 | If Thou shouldst leave them, they will mislead Thy slaves and will beget none save lewd ingrates. | 'Innaka 'In Tadharhum Yuđillū `Ibādaka Wa Lā Yalidū 'Illā Fājirāan Kaffārāan |
 |
| 71.28 | My Lord! Forgive me and my parents and him who entereth my house believing, and believing men and believing women, and increase not the wrong-doers in aught save ruin. | Rabbi Aghfir Lī Wa Liwālidayya Wa Liman Dakhala Baytiya Mu'umināan Wa Lilmu'uminīna Wa Al-Mu'umināti Wa Lā Tazidi Až-Žālimīna 'Illā Tabārāan |
